Webinar on natural fragmentation modelling

Modelling of natural fragmentation under explosive loading

We recently added a new document to our knowledge base: Modelling of Natural Fragmentation Under Explosive Loading. It examines the challenges of modelling natural fragmentation, highlighting key numerical aspects and the necessity of separate criteria for crack initiation and propagation.

The document can be found here: Modelling of natural fragmentation under explosive loading

Webinar on natural fragmentation modelling

We invite you to a webinar where our CTO, Lars Olovsson will present this work. The discussion will focus on the importance of using a fracture energy parameter (GI) and a random flaw distribution in this specific process. Remaining challenges and unresolved limitations will also be addressed. The new material model *MAT_EXPLOSIVE_JWL is used to model the explosive with finite elements.

  • Speaker: Lars Olovsson
  • Date/time: 12th of February 2025, 10:00 CET
  • Sign-up: Webinar

The webinar will be recorded and made available on the knowledge base after the event.
